My Winter Skincare

My Winter Skincare

This year, I really want to focus on having a skincare routine that works for me! I've dabbled in it in the past, but I seriously want to commit this year. I wanted to start a bit of a series where I would detail my skincare seasonally, so I could remember my favorite products and see how my routine progresses over time!

Morning Skincare

I definitely fluctuate between which is easier for me to keep up with, a morning routine or an evening one (even though I know I need both!!), but on the days where I don't wear makeup, I'd much rather do a long skincare routine in the morning. The cold water helps wake me up, and I just feel less sleepy overall!

Cleanser: Clean & Clear Morning Burst Facial Cleanser With Bursting Beads

I've used this cleanser for quite some time, and I just love the smell of it! It really does wake me up, and I love that it's a gel formula. It's not oily or greasy at all, but it doesn't make my face feel tight when I'm done rinsing it away!

Toner: Beauty 360 Refreshing Toner

This is another product that I've used for YEARS. It's from the CVS-brand beauty line, which is my favorite drugstore beauty line ever! My first-ever toner was the L'Oreal Hydrafresh Toner, and these two toners are basically the same. I mean, even the bottles are identical!

The CVS version is just easier to find at a moment's notice, and more affordable! I use this Beauty 360 toner morning and night, and it always makes my skin feel clean and hydrated.

Eye Cream: Origins GinZing Refreshing Eye Cream

I'm a newbie to eye creams for sure (I'm not even 20 yet!), but as of right now, this one is kind of my holy grail product. As you'll see in a minute, I just love the whole GinZing line. I think this eye cream really does deliver on its promise to brighten and depuff the under-eye area, which I seriously need first thing in the morning!

Moisturizer: Origins GinZing Energy-Boosting Moisturizer

See, I told you! I love Origins' GinZing line!! This moisturizer was actually part of a gift my brother got me for Christmas (well...I took him to the mall and we went into Origins and I literally put it into his hands. BUT STILL.). The gel texture is soooo nice, and it really does have a lovely citrusy smell.

Throughout the Day

Mario Badescu Facial Spray (Rosewater)

Pretty much everyone who's into skincare loves Mario Badescu products, and I'm no exception! I haven't tried the facial spray with aloe, cucumber, and green tea yet, but I love the aloe, herbs, and rosewater version! I love pretty much anything rose-scented, so this is a perfect, refreshing spritz throughout the day, whether or not I'm wearing makeup!

Lips: Smith's Rosebud Salve

Again with the rose-scented products! I love this salve, and I've definitely given tubes or tins of this to people as gifts because I love it so much. I especially love that this has a bit of a pink tint, so even if I'm not wearing a full face of makeup, I do look a LITTLE more put together! It's also great for dry skin and cuticle care, so if I ever have a bit of extra left over, I definitely rub it into my hands and nails.

Evening Skincare

Makeup Remover: Micellar Cleansing Water for Waterproof Makeup

I haven't tried this Garnier SkinActive micellar water, instead opting for the Beauty 360 version, but I've heard they're pretty similar and both get the job done! I do feel like the Beauty 360 one that I have leaves a SLIGHTLY greasy residue, so I definitely wash with soap and water after, but it does a great job of getting rid of even waterproof makeup.

Cleanser: Clean & Clear Night Relaxing Deep Cleaning Face Wash

The second half of the cleanser I use in the morning, I've used this nighttime cleanser for years and I don't think I'll ever truly abandon it!! I just love the smell and the slight foaminess of it. I use it with a manual face brush for some gentle exfoliation and to really get out any remaining makeup that the micellar water missed.

Toner: Same as Morning

Moisturizer: The Body Shop Vitamin-E Nourishing Night Cream

I love this night cream! Even though it's really nice and thick, it doesn't feel oily or greasy on the skin, and it has a nice light smell, nothing overpowering. It definitely makes my skin feel soft and smooth when I wake up in the morning, so it's a winner in my book!

Mario Badescu Drying Lotion

Finally, my last step of the evening is to dab a bit of the Mario Badescu drying lotion onto any blemishes. This stuff is the real deal, y'all! Just a tiny bit goes a long way, and I must admit, I kind of like the smell/tingly feeling that it gives you! I bet this will still be a part of my skincare routine the next time I compile a post like this, it's that good.

Until next time ~

XOXO, Maria
