Albums I'm Looking Forward to in 2018!

Albums I'm Looking Forward to in 2018!

If you're like me, you always have your music on shuffle, skipping to the next song before the current song is even finished playing. You, too, are probably super excited for at least a few new albums to come out in 2018! Here, in no particular order, are some of the albums that I know I'll be putting into my Spotify rotation!

1.  Camila Cabelo -- Camila

When this blog post goes live, Camila will already have come out -- and I'm sure I'll have listened to it all the way through a few times! Along with everyone and their mother, I love Havana, but somehow I love Never Be the Same even more. I seriously can't wait for Camila Cabello's solo debut. Funnily enough, even though I definitely enjoy some of Fourth Harmony's music, I didn't know enough about them to keep up with all the drama when Camila initially left the band. I love her voice so much, and I'm happy to support both her and the girls of Fourth Harmony!!

2. Bastille -- Untitled Third Album

Bastille's first album, Bad Blood, is possibly one of my favorite albums of all time -- there's not a track on that thing that I don't love! Wild World, their second album, was released in 2016 and was obviously extremely good, but to me, Bad Blood is still my favorite. Now, they're set to release a third album in 2018, and I can't wait! Bastille is one of those bands that I'm desperate to see live, so hopefully I'll be able to go to a Dallas concert for this album! An interesting thing about this album is that one of the songs will be featured in a major movie. How cool is that?!

3. Nicki Minaj -- Untitled Fourth Album

Sorry for all these albums that don't even have names yet, but come on, that just shows how much excitement is getting drummed up by these artists ALREADY. Like, Nicki promised us an album QUITE SOME TIME AGO. Where is it, Nicki?! Thank goodness the queen of rap has been featured on some other artists' songs in the interim since The Pinkprint. That album was seriously sooooo good, and the fact that Nicki hasn't come out with anything of her own since then is tragic. A year ago, when she lent her voice to Major Lazer's "Run Up," she said that she was "'bout to drop an album, this is my fourth." Please, Nicki! SOON!! PLEASE.

4. Vance Joy -- Nation of Two

When I saw Taylor Swift live in 2015, I was lucky enough to see not one, but two amazing opening acts. The first was Shawn Mendes, who was a surprise for us -- I knew Vance Joy would be opening, but this was a surprise. And because I was so excited to see Vance Joy, I wasn't all that excited by Mendes. Yes...that's right...I saw one of the trendiest pop stars of the moment before he hit the big time and I wasn't all that into it. OH WELL. That aside, getting to see Vance Joy sing even just a few songs made waiting for Shawn Mendes to finish up was soooo worth it. I can't wait for Nation of Two to come out in late February, my Sleep playlist on Spotify is going to be FULL of new banjo songs. I CAN'T WAIT.

5. Selena Gomez -- Untitled Third Solo Album

Finally, Selena Gomez's newest album is supposed to come out in 2018! I've loved the four songs she released in 2017 ("It Ain't Me" with Kygo, "Bad Liar," "Fetish" with Gucci Mane, and "Wolves" with Marshmello) and how much her voice is still so reminiscent of her time headlining The Scene. Selena is probably my favorite post-Disney pop star, and hearing about all her medical issues these past few years make me relate to her so much. I'm beyond proud of her for continuing to make music, and according to her, this new album is going to address those issues. I'm definitely going to be listening to them on repeat as soon as the album comes out!

Bonus: Taylor Swift -- Reputation

As I mentioned earlier in this post, I saw Taylor Swift in 2015 when she came to Dallas or, more appropriately, Arlington, for the 1989 tour. I've been lucky enough to get tickets for my mom and I to see her again in October for the Reputation tour!! Even though the album has been out since November 2017, I'm counting it as a bonus album I'm excited about in 2018. I'll definitely be listening to it enough up until the concert that it'll end up on my "Most Played of 2018" playlist, and rightfully so!!

Until next time ~

XOXO, Maria
