My Cozy Faves!
As a lifelong Texan, I do not claim to love the cold weather. In fact, unless it's snowing, I pretty much hate being cold. I used to think I liked it better than the heat, because you could always warm up, but cooling off was much harder. Not quite sure that that's true!! But with these cozy faves, I know I'll be nice and toasty in no time.
I seriously use this heated throw EVERY SINGLE NIGHT. Even if I turn it off once I get into bed, there's something soooo nice about getting into a set of nice warm sheets! I'll have it on and running while I'm finishing up my nighttime routine and then click it off before I go to sleep. Or sometimes when it's really cold, I'll just leave it running! It's also great if you have any sort of aches, pains, or cramps -- it works like a huge heating pad to help your body relax!
I've already talked about how much I love the Winter Sage candle from Bath and Body Works for this time of year, but right now, my favorite is Black Tie. No surprise, one of the scents in this blend is sage, so it makes sense that this has momentarily replaced Winter Sage as my candle of the moment! It also has the calming aroma of sandalwood, and tonka bean to top it off -- before this candle, I'd never even heard of tonka bean. Apparently, the best way to describe it is a blend of vanilla, cherry, almond, and cinnamon. YUM.
Sometimes, even when I'm covered in blankets and my heated throw is turned on, my feet still get so chilled they're numb! The best way to combat this is some nice fuzzy socks, like these from Haslra! I love that they come in a range of different colors, plus because they're made of microfiber, your feet won't get all sweaty and clammy! One of my favorite ways to wear these is out and about with a pair of plain leggings and sneakers -- you can add a dash of color to a neutral, casual outfit, AND your feet stay nice and warm. Win win!
Sometimes during the winter, life is cruel and you're force to leave the confines of your warm bed, or even worse, your house! That's why I love slipper boots, like these from KUMFY. I definitely wore a pair of slipper boots to see The Last Jedi last week, sorry not sorry. Slippers like these are perfect because they cover your whole foot to keep warmth in, and they can pass for actual shoes with a hard sole when you go out to brave the cold!
The Danish word "hygge" basically summarizes the cozy feeling! It's all about being warm and happy with people you love. I absolutely loooove the concept, and it's gotten really popular lately, so there's tons of books out there about it, like this one, The Pocket Book of Hygge. I first saw this book in Barnes & Noble, and I think it's just so cute! It isn't quite pocket-sized -- it's about six inches by six inches -- but it is charmingly small and full of little reminders/ideas about hygge! If there's someone in your life that loves curling up with a thick blanket and some hot tea, this might be the perfect gift for them...or maybe for you, if you're as intrigued by hygge as I am!
Until next time ~
