Long time, no blog! After a short break, I’m excited to bring y’all better content than ever. Let’s get started with three monthly favorites from July 2017.
#3 -- KIKO Milano Summer 2.0 Highlighting Drops in Plushy Rose
Appropriately enough, the product that takes the bronze for my July favorites is my new fave highlighter! I picked this up at the Sawgrass Mills Malls in Sunrise, Florida. I wandered into the KIKO Milano store and was pleasantly surprised by the affordability of what seems to be fairly professional-grade makeup. I’ve heard of KIKO Milano being referred to as “the NYX of Europe,” and that’s a really great way to put it -- I will definitely be browsing their website in the future (sadly, , and stocking up on this highlighter before Summer 2.0 ends!
This limited-edition line was definitely a focus of the store, and I was drawn to the pretty pink-and-sand tones of many of the products. I’ve been absolutely obsessed with highlighters for some time now, and personally, I’m a bigger fan of liquid highlighter to get a really dewy, glowy look. I’ve used the Ulta Glow Enhancer Drop kit, and though I liked it just fine, the consistency was a little gloopy for my taste. The thickness of the Summer 2.0 Highlighting Drops was PERFECT. A little goes a long way when it comes to the warm pigment in Plushy Rose, and when you rub it it in, it gives you a totally natural, sheer wash of color. I love that this shade acts as a light blusher and a highlighter, and it’s absolutely part of my daily makeup routine when I only want a few products in the mix.
#2 -- Crest 3D White Brilliance Toothpaste
It might seem unglamorous to have a toothpaste on a monthly favorites list, but this one definitely earned its spot! Mama ThriveWithStyle bought a travel-size version of this before our trip to Florida, and after using it just a few times, she recommended it to me. I have tried SO MANY toothpastes that claim to whiten the teeth, from all-natural ones to classics like Arm & Hammer, but this is the first one where I’ve seen immediate results. I think this has to do with the “dissolving polishing complex,” because it definitely feels a little grainy on my teeth, like it’s really scrubbing away.
I think it’s also important to note that I have kind of sensitive teeth (I can’t drink cold drinks without a straw!), and many of the whitening toothpastes I’ve tried in the past have just made that problem worse. Maybe it’s because it’s enamel-safe, but the 3D White Brilliance toothpaste doesn’t make my teeth more sensitive!! YAY for Crest!!

#1 -- Oster Blend-N-Go MyBlend Blender
And finally, the gold medalist for the month of June is this personal blender from Oster! Oh my goodness, y’all. This has seriously changed breakfast for me!! My family has a larger blender, but when it’s only me wanting a smoothie, that seems like overkill. Plus, it’s a hassle to wash. This blender solved those problems, AND it’s totally easy and convenient to use. The bottle comes with two caps: one is a regular cap with a flip close, and the other has the blades inside. You just fill your bottle with all the ingredients (if anyone’s interested in my fave smoothie recipes, leave a comment below!), screw on the top with the blades, and flip it over onto the base. It’s a manual blend, so I just hold it down until I can see that the ingredients have blended up nice and smooth inside.
I’m always looking for timesavers, and this product definitely fits. The base only needs to be wiped down with a damp cloth every so often, and the other pieces are all dishwasher-safe. How great is that?? I seriously recommend a personal electric blender for smoothie enthusiasts out there, especially if you live alone or you’re just alone in your quest for the perfect smoothie. I feel y’all.

So there you have it! Those are my favorites for July...but my REAL favorite is how stoked I am to get down to business and write a bunch more posts for y’all this month! Watch for my Back to School series that will last most of August. I’m actually lowkey jealous of everyone who’s going back to school this fall, so I’m compiling all my best tips and can’t wait to live vicariously through all of the students out there!
Until next time!
