Shows To Re-Watch Over The Holidays!
Over my Holiday Breaks, there was nothing I loved more than binging a good TV show, preferably one I'd already seen! There's just something comfortable about watching something when you know the end. Here are my recommendations for this holiday season!
This one's pretty obvious, I bet! FRIENDS is such a classic, and whenever I'm in need of a short pick-me-up or just a distraction from real life, an episode of FRIENDS is just what I need! Plus, because the episodes are only 20 minutes long, you can get through quite a few in a row.
And as if you needed any more reasons to watch, there's always such cute FRIENDS merch out there, like this cute Central Perk mug (I have a similar one as a travel mug!).
It's pretty rare that I love a sci-fi show (fantasy is more my speed, too much science and my eyes glaze over) so I think it's a testament to how great this show is that I love it so much! Plus, it does kind of glaze over most of the scientific explanation, thank goodness. If you're a fan of The Avengers or Buffy the Vampire Slayer, I definitely recommend you check it out, because Firefly is also a Joss Whedon production.
This is a new addition to my favorites (I'm actually watching as I write this!) but because I'm already on my second rewatch of this show, it only seemed right to include it here. This show is everything you've heard AND MORE. Seriously. It really is a masterpiece (pun intended...) and I can't recommend it enough. Unfortunately it's the opposite of FRIENDS in the fact that the episodes are quite long, but it's far too easy to get sucked into a spiral of a season or two in one couch-potato day!
There's something about the holiday season that can feel so glitzy and glamorous -- well, not my holidays, particularly, but the idea of New Year's Eve seems perfect for a Gossip Girl marathon! What better way to make sure you're awake until midnight than by getting wrapped up again in Blair and Serena's adventures? A bonus -- if you're throwing a New Year's Eve party this year, giving it a theme à la the scandalous lives of Manhattan's elite? Maybe a masquerade ball, but just make sure you're not wearing the same outfit as Little J!
Whether or not you're on board with Gilmore Girls: A Year In the Life, the original series never disappoints -- at least, that's been my experience!! Especially whenever Lorelai talks about being able to smell the snow... it's definitely a rarity to smell snow here in Dallas, but Lauren Graham makes it super believable. It's also a great family show, whether your loved ones have seen it already and are rewatching it with you, or if you get to introduce them to the lovely universe of Stars Hollow.
Until next time ~
