Weekend In My Life: Boston!
To truly kick my November off with the most FALL bang possible, yours truly found herself in Boston for four days, by turns totally enjoying and...really, truly hating the frigid temperatures. Regardless, I had a great time this weekend, and I wanted to detail my experience here on the blog!
In order to make the most of our first day in Boston, my dad and I took an extremely early flight from Love Field, taking off at 8:30 AM, which meant we left the house at 6:30. WHY. At least we had great flying weather!
I spent the three-hour flight by taking a short nap, and then following that up by inhaling a sandwich and reading a Gordie Howe biography my English teacher gave me last year. A very on-brand experience!
Finally, we landed in Boston! I got to see one of my best friends from school, which was great because I thought they were going to be out of town. We hung out in the dorms at Emerson College, and then we had a quick dinner at Griddlers. Then it was back to the hotel for some reading before bed -- I'm totally obsessed with this Susan Kay book I started over the trip! Even on a jam-packed trip, it's important to take advantage of downtime so you can relax :)
The first full day of our trip was a little more touristy. We didn't really have any plans until 7 at night, so it was a day to sleep in and then go out to lunch at one of the coolest places I've eaten in a long time -- the Green Dragon Tavern! The original Green Dragon was where revolutionaries overheard the redcoats planning, and then set Paul Revere off on his famous ride! The atmosphere of the tavern was so fun, and the food was totally amazing, too. I got a traditional Irish corned beef dinner, and it was crazy good.
After lunch, we wandered around Quincy Market for a while, and then headed over to Northeastern University to watch a hockey game, and then to Uno's Pizzeria and Grill for some late-night pizza! Veggie pizza is always my go-to, and this one was perfect, down to the crust!!
Saturday kicked off with even more pizza! I met up in the North End with a friend who goes to Boston University, and she took me to a great Italian place, Quattro! I had the margherita pizza...such a classic, and for good reason!
Looks good, right? And check out the picture my friend snapped...nothing like the love between a girl and her pizza.
Saturday wrapped up with a hockey game at Harvard, and seeing one of my friends who goes there (and he's really not a sports fan, so...friendship is a TREASURE, y'all). After the hockey game, we ate at the hotel and turned in!
It was back to Harvard Sunday morning to see another one of my best friends from school -- I've known her for twelve years, and it was so great to see her in her new element at school! We went to Russell House Tavern and got sandwiches and fries before browsing the Harvard COOP and checking out her dorm!
Then, sadly, it was time to head home -- but honestly, after being in 24 degrees weather (that felt like 12 degrees, according to the weather app) I was looking forward to being back in Texas! And as the holidays come up, I must admit it's nice to be home!!
Until next time ~
