I actually can't believe it's already November. October really flew by, but throughout the month, I gathered some favorite things to share with y'all!
1. Sweater from SheIn
This mustard-yellow sweater from SheIn is already a staple in my fall wardrobe! I love that it can be dressed down with leggings and sneakers or dressed up with a skirt and booties. The color is PERFECT for fall, even if you're here in Dallas and 85-degree days are common. I love the cuffed details around the sleeves and neck, and the texture is awesome, too! Look out for a full SheIn try-on haul soon enough, but I just couldn't wait to share this with y'all!
2. All Things Harry Potter
There's just something about the fall that makes me crave rereading and rewatching Harry Potter. I've been reading a chapter of The Sorcerer's Stone every night before bed, and for the past few days, I've convinced my family to watch the first few movies with me! In fact, as soon as I'm done with this blog post, I'm going to pop in some microwave popcorn and Prisoner of Azkaban and have myself another movie night. Even if you're not a big Harry Potter fan, the fall is such a perfect time to snuggle up with a book you love, especially if you're at school and have to read a lot of things that you're not all that interested in, LOL.
3. Reese's With the Pieces!
Kind of a random way to find this favorite, but I was reading a Q&A with a new Dallas Stars player, and he mentioned that his favorite Halloween candy is the Reese's peanut butter cup with the Reese's Pieces inside. The regular Reese's are my favorite candy (I was actually a Reese's for Halloween one year. Seriously.), so I absolutely had to try these. I must admit, I'm not a big fan of the Pieces on their own, but for some reason when they're in a Reese's Cup....WOW. Needless to say, I did not give these out to trick-or-treaters, I was way too selfish for that.
My mom has always loved playing tennis, and regularly plays in local leagues after work. I decided to sign up for a Beginners class through my rec center, and I am SO glad I did. I used to be a pretty high-level athlete (I played volleyball for 12 years, and select/travel for three) but due to injuries and less-than-stellar coaches, as well as my health issues last year, I had to back off from it. Playing any sport at all would probably give me that competitive rush, but I think the similarities between tennis and volleyball probably predispose me to liking it. Plus, it's always fun to learn a sport with other beginners!
5. OPI "I Am What I Amethyst" Nail Polish
My last favorite for the month of October is a nail polish color. This OPI periwinkle-lavender color is SO gorgeous, and though it might be more of a winter color than a fall color, I love it anyway. According to The Polish Garden, this color was released in 2016, so it's still fairly new. I love really pale colors because I think they tend to be universally flattering, but unfortunately, the problem with them is that they can sometimes be too sheer to get the right color payoff. "I Am What I Amethyst" doesn't seem to have that problem, so that's a win in my book!
There you have it! Five of my favorite things from October...on to November (SO weird to say that.)!
Until next time~
