September 2017 Favorites
I can’t believe it’s already October! I cannot wait for Halloween, so a few of my favorites from September 2017 have definitely been getting me in the spooky mood!
Let’s start with one of those!!
#1: American Horror Story
It’s been a while since I found a show that I could really and truly binge-watch on my own. When I’m watching six episodes of Pretty Little Liars in a row, it’s because I’m watching it with my mom! I’d say the last show I could really sit down and watch for hours was Friends, and this favorite is a total departure from goofy sitcom fun.
American Horror Story is THE show for me this fall, y’all. Apart from it being perfectly scary for the Halloween season, there’s something so fun about getting to watch an incredible cast transform themselves season after season. I’m currently on season 3 (Coven) and I’m totally obsessed. If you’re a fan of the creepy and gory, I totally recommend. If you’re more a fan of treats than tricks, I have a couple favorites that are probably more your speed!
#2: Mickey’s Not-So-Scary Halloween Party
If I could put something Disney-related on every single favorites list ever, I so would. I love the parks themselves, the movies, the characters, ALL of it! I had the opportunity last weekend to attend Mickey’s Not-So-Scary Halloween Party, an after-hours extravaganza at the Magic Kingdom, for the first time ever. It was maybe one of my best Disney experiences of all time!!
Apart from all the awesome Halloween-themed events -- in the parade, many of the characters wre costumes, and there wa a special villain-themed fireworks show -- just eing in the park so late at night was super cool. There was basically zero wait time for the rides, which was a treat, and it wasn’t crazy hot, either. Plus, there were designated trick-or-treat stations where you could go get candy!! Thank you, Disney, for giving this too-old-for-trick-or-treating kid at heart some Skittles.
#3: Bath and Body Works Mahogany Apple Candle
This is another fall-themed favorite, and the only thing scary about it is that I don’t think it’s available all year long! When Bath and Body Works had a 2-for-1 deal on three-wick candles, I tried not to go TOO crazy and just got myself one seriously fall candle. This is definitely my scent of the season, at least when it comes to what my room smells like!
The label lists the fragrance notes as red mahogany woods, Golden Delicious apple, pink peppercorn, and fresh lavender sprigs. The mahogany definitely comes through, but it’s not overpowering or anything, just really nice and hearty-smelling, and the apple finishes it up with a crisp note. So, SO good. I don’t see it on the B&BW website, but if you stumble across it in a brick-and-mortar store, definitely take a whiff!
#4: Tarteist Creamy Matte Lip Paint in Exposed
I already knew in my lipstick haul that I would love this product, but now that I’ve used it throughout the end of the month and while I was travelling, I can confirm it. The formula is so great and long-lasting, and it doesn’t get all over my teeth when I eat wearing it! It’s one of those perfect nudes for me, because you can tell I’m wearing lipstick, but it’s perfect for a look when my eye makeup is the focus of the look.
#5: Dallas StyleCon
My last favorite of the month might just be my favorite (shh...don’t tell the others!). StyleCon was the first event of its kind that I’ve attended, and it was seriously such a blast. I got to meet some YouTubers I watch all the time and have inspired me, which was awesome, and on top of that, I just got to make connections with brands and with other bloggers like myself. Here are a couple photos from the event!
And here’s a bonus picture of Mama ThriveWithStyle, screenshotted from one of Jeanine Amapola’s (the hostess with the mostest!) vlogs.
The fact that both my mom and I had so much fun is really a testament to how organized and well put-together StyleCon was. I already can’t wait for next year!
Well, there you have it! Let me know in the comments below what your favorite Bath and Body Works candle for fall is...OR if you were at StyleCon, too!!
Until next time~
